Hollywood might look glamorous, but behind the scenes, things can get tense. Not every celebrity pairing is full of red carpets and smiles.

Sometimes, co-stars just don’t get along. From clashing egos to heated arguments, these stars made it clear—they’re never working together again.

Whether it’s drama on set or feuds that spilled into real life, here are 9 celebrities who refused to share the screen again—and the real reasons why.

1. Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson They starred in the Fast & Furious franchise and brought serious action energy. But off-screen? Total tension.

The Rock posted a cryptic message on Instagram during filming, calling out unnamed male co-stars as “candy asses.” It didn’t take long for fans to guess it was Vin Diesel.

Reports said the two had different work styles—The Rock was all business, while Vin was more laid-back. The tension grew so strong that they didn’t film scenes together in The Fate of the Furious.

Johnson later said he wouldn’t return for future films with Vin. Even Vin’s public plea couldn’t bring him back.

This bromance officially ended in burnout.

2. Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall They played best friends on Sex and the City, but the real-life relationship between Parker and Cattrall was far from friendly. Rumors of tension swirled for years.

Cattrall said the cast was never really close. Things blew up after her brother died and Parker publicly expressed sympathy. Cattrall clapped back, calling it “cruel” and “not genuine.”

She made it clear she wouldn’t return to any Sex and the City project if Parker was involved.

That’s why she’s missing from the reboot And Just Like That. This fashion friendship turned into a full-on fallout.

3. Bill Murray and Lucy Liu During the filming of Charlie’s Angels in 2000, things got heated between Bill Murray and Lucy Liu. Reports say Murray criticized Liu’s acting during a scene, and Liu didn’t hold back—she reportedly threw punches.

The two finished the movie, but the damage was done. When the sequel came around, Murray was replaced by Bernie Mac. Liu has since spoken about the incident, saying she stood up for herself.

Murray has stayed mostly silent. But one thing’s clear: these two won’t be teaming up again.

4. Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte They starred in the rom-com I Love Trouble, but the behind-the-scenes vibe was anything but romantic. Julia Roberts called Nick Nolte “completely disgusting” in an interview.

Nolte responded by saying she was “not a nice person.” Ouch. Reports said the two couldn’t stand each other on set. They even filmed many scenes separately using stand-ins.

That level of dislike is rare—even in Hollywood. After that, neither had interest in another movie together.

5. Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy You’d think two tough actors like Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy would bond on set. Instead, their time filming Lawless turned physical.

Reports say they got into a serious fight—some say it was even staged, others say it was real. Shia later described it as “brotherly,” but Hardy admitted Shia knocked him out.

Despite calling it playful, the tension was real. The two haven’t worked together since. And it doesn’t look like they will anytime soon.

6. Alec Baldwin and Shia LaBeouf Yes, Shia’s on this list again. He was supposed to star with Alec Baldwin in the Broadway play Orphans. But during rehearsals, things fell apart.

Reports said Shia was too intense and clashed with Baldwin’s style. Shia was fired before the play opened.

He later posted private emails and cryptic tweets. Baldwin called it a “big learning experience.”

These two had a major personality clash that shut down their short-lived partnership.

7. Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj They were brought together as judges on American Idol, but things quickly turned sour. Mariah and Nicki clashed from day one.

There were on-camera spats and behind-the-scenes shouting matches. One argument even got so bad it leaked online. Mariah later said joining the show was like “working in hell with Satan.”

Nicki didn’t hold back either, calling Mariah “insecure.” When their Idol season ended, so did any chance of future collaboration.

8. James Franco and Tyrese Gibson They worked together on Annapolis, but it was a rocky ride. Tyrese claimed Franco took the role too seriously—so seriously that he got rough during fight scenes.

Franco later admitted he stayed in character and didn’t always hold back. Tyrese said he didn’t enjoy the experience and would never work with Franco again.

Their styles clashed hard, and it showed.

9. Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe Even classic Hollywood had its feuds. On the set of Some Like It Hot, Tony Curtis famously said kissing Marilyn Monroe was “like kissing Hitler.”

He later claimed it was a joke—but the tension was real. Monroe was often late, forgot lines, and needed multiple takes.

Curtis grew frustrated. While the film became a hit, the set was stressful. The two stars never worked together again.

Chemistry on screen doesn’t always mean friendship off-screen. These stars might have created magic in front of the camera, but behind it? Not so much.

Their stories prove that sometimes, it’s not just acting—it’s surviving the drama.
